WINTER 2025 TAX BILL NOTICE
New Payment Option
Independent Bank in Charlotte will now accept current tax payments on our behalf.
• You must bring your ORIGINAL YELLOW COPY of your tax bill.
• The bank will stamp your receipt.
Note: Past-due bills-including 2025 Summer taxes—will not be accepted at the bank.

In-Person Payments:
• Monday & Tuesday only 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Drop Box:
– Do NOT leave cash
– Include your phone number on your check
 – For receipt, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope

NOTICE OF DISCONTINUANCE OF PERMANENT ABSENT VOTER APPLICATION LIST The Michigan Bureau of Elections is discontinuing the Permanent Absent

Voter Application List in the Michigan Department of State’s Qualified Voter File.

This means Benton Charter Township will no longer be automatically sending Absent Voter Applications.

This is the last automatic Absent Voter Application you will receive. 

There are still two ways in which you can receive an Absent Voter Ballot:

You may submit a properly completed Absent Voter Application (this may be found at gov/vote),

either by mail or online, for each future election in which you would like to request a ballot, or;

You may request to be placed on the Permanent Ballot List so that you will automatically

receive a ballot for each future election in which you are registered and eligible to vote.
